National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS)

NAPS is a new scheme of the Government of India to provide financial support to establishments undertaking apprenticeship training.

Direct Beneficiary Transfer for Apprentices:
The Government directly transfers 25% of the prescribed stipend, up to Rs. 1500 per month, to the apprentice's bank account hired under NAPS.

Benefits of NAPS for Companies:
Companies are exempt from EPF & ESI contributions, with payouts aligned to NAPS-defined stipends instead of state minimum wages. They can also allocate CSR funds for NAPS stipends.
